Moon Tarot Card

XVIII – The Moon Tarot Card

While the light of The Star is distant and dim, The Moon tarot card sheds a brighter light on our darkness. We are closer to the light, but not out of the woods yet. There’s still work to do to get back into the light, and most of it is internal — dealing with our emotions and continuing the work of letting go of the past and our past ways of ignoring our inner voice.

The Moon tarot card is related to The High Priestess, he keeper of arcane and esoteric secrets. But those secrets lie within you, and in your emotional turmoil and depression you’ll find the key to unlock the self-made prison you created, then shattered in The Tower.

While friends or family may help and support you through this challenging time, you have to do the heavy lifting yourself. This is solitary work, getting in touch with your inner soul and learning to run wild again, howling at The Moon, so to speak.

But… the night is darkest before the dawn, and those inner doubts — or outer influences — may try to deceive and derail you just as you are about to have your epiphany and embrace the dawn of a new day. Don’t give up, this final emotional test comes right before the dawn.

“Everyone is a moon and has a dark side which he never shows to anybody.”

Mark Twain
