XII – The Hanged Man Tarot Card Meaning

Your world is turned upside down, and the really crazy thing is it may be by your own hand. Or, the Hanged Man tarot card can represent the need to let go and stop fighting fate for those control freaks.

With the Hanged Man, life is in a state of suspension, literally and figuratively. On the good side, this is a voluntary sacrifice, like the Norse god Odin, who hung for nine days to earn his knowledge and insight into the runes.

While this may not be the most comfortable position to be in, the wisdom and fresh perspective you can gain by “letting go of the wheel” and going with the flow — regardless of where it takes you — usually yields a big spiritual payoff at the end.

The Hanged Man tarot card is a big time out from life, and the great paradox of this card is that by giving up your control, you gain a whole new kind of freedom that can’t be taken away, even when you find yourself in situations where you are “powerless” in a physical sense.
