Nine of Cups

I believe it’s Christiana Gaudet who refers to the Nine of Cups as the “fat and happy card,” making it one of the most auspicious cards in the Minor Arcana pf the tarot deck. Yeah, yeah, we know there aren’t supposed to be any “good” or “bad” cards in the tarot deck, but this is one of the cards you’d much rather see come up in a reading then say, The Tower.

In a tarot reading, the NIne of Cups indicates reaching a comfortable level of success with financial stability and a healthy appetite for the finer things in life. It could actually also mean a more than healthy appetite, given the “fat” part of that equation. This is a card of contentment, but notice the man in the illustration is alone. One can be happy and content while alone, but as good as things are now, it might be nice to have someone with whom to share all this wealth and contentment.
