King of Swords

As a leader in cerebral and intellectual pursuits, the King of Swords may be involved in law, as a judge or lawyer. In fact, there are some similarities between this card and Justice, as each holds a sword upright in their right hand (the intellect more than the creative side) and they both sit on a throne. The King of Swords, however, doesn’t hold a set of scales and may have a tendency to be over domineering or look down on those who aren’t as smart as he is, which is a substantial portion of the population.

He’s associated with Aquarius and the intellectual authority of that zodiac sign, so he may also be in the medical profession as a doctor. Think of the professions we normally label as being for those who are highly intelligent, and those are often represented in a tarot reading by the King of Swords.
