Five of Cups
At first Glance, the Five of Cups looks like a card of loss and sorrow. The caped man is standing on a barren stretch of land separated from his castle by a river. Three of the five cups have been knocked over and have spilled their contents onto the dry earth.
But look again. All is not lost, there are still 2 cups upright that haven’t spilled, and if you look in the distance, there’s a bridge across the river. Things have taken a turn for the worse and there have deftly been losses, but not everything has been lost. You still have resources to work with to get back on track if you’ll simply take stock of what you still have.
One of my favorite TED talks was by Victoria price, the daughter of legendary horror actor Vincent price. My sister sent this video to me at one of the real low points in my life where I felt like I had hit rock bottom and was beyond broke. If you take stock, you’ll find you have a lot more resources than you realized. And you’ll find you have a lot more moves to make to get out of the corner you feel like you’re in. Does not checkmate, but simply “check.”
Take stock of your situation and what you have to work with and plan a new strategy. There is still hope.
